VLC media player is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player that plays most multimedia files as well as discs, devices, and network streaming protocols. This is the port of VLC media player to the Android™ platform. VLC for Android can play any video and audio files, as well as network streams, network shares and drives, and DVD ISOs, like the desktop version of VLC. Permissions –––––––––––– VLC for Android needs access to those categories: • "PhotosMediaFiles" to read your all media files :) • "Storage" to read your all media files on SD cards :) • "Other" to check network connections, change the volume, set the ringtone, run on Android TV and display the popup view, see below for details. Permission Details : • It needs "read the contents of your USB storage", in to order to read your media files on it. • It needs "modify or delete the contents of your USB storage", in order to allow deletion of files and store subtitles. • It needs "full network access", to open network and internet streams. • It needs "prevent phone from sleeping" in order to prevent... your phone from sleeping when watching a video. • It needs "change your audio settings", in order to change audio volume. • It needs "modify system settings", in order to allow you to change your audio ringtone. • It needs "view network connections" in order to monitor whether device is connected or not. • It needs "draw over other apps" to start the custom picture-in-picture widget. • It needs "control vibration" to give feedback on the controls. • It needs "run at startup" to set recommendations on Android TV launcher screen, only used on Android TV devices. • It needs "microphone" to provide voice search on Android TV devices, only asked on Android TV devices.

A song cannot be repeated when you play a song from a folder on files apps, you need to open the app and go through thousands of songs to get to the one you want (the search option dont show songs either) thats the only way you can repeat a song.

Doesn't work well with subtitles especially casting it. For some reason refuses to show is frustrating. If it is hard coded it is fine. Lots of strange bugs like playing in background but fails to render again when screen turns on again. App is just frustrating to use.

the most irritating thing about vlc is the audio lag when playing through a bluetooth headphone, Ive no lag on youtube and mx player, Ive tried the beta it too has lag, please fix this..😥

Not able to download the subtitles .i have tried so many times it just shows its downloading but it never get downloaded and then even if it does it shows 'error in downloading the subtitles '.please fix it .

It lags often when playing 1080p videos. I deleted all data and cache, restarted my phone, and disabled hardware acceleration but still it doesn't work properly. Can you please help me with this issue? Is there some settings that I need to change?

This is the best app among the video&music players. Once I was bored of using my phone apps bcz they were unable to organise completely my doccumments in a good way but vlc(this app) directly helped in arranging them in a perfect way. Keeping it in my device is a good plan. Owners of this app, please don't let it fall down bcz what you are doing is valuable. Keep it up.✔

did not work on my phoenix OS but i love it in my windows PC, the extra feature I would love to have is the subtitle fetching from opensubtitles automatically. More advance would be the auto sync of voice and subtitles, if not so. Of course this is not going to come pretty soon

Very lovely app for watching videos Would have given a five star but you can't share videos from the app, that's wierd.
Best free video/music player out there. I have an issue with the music Genre tab. Some albums fall across multiple genre's and usually players like Windows Media Player and Kodi will allow you to set a delim usually ';' or '/'. Kodi lets you set it I know media player reads ';". However, THIS player does not read the delimiters and just shows all Genre's on one line making this tab useless for me. ...I have OCD and have my music catagorized. :-) Please add support for DSD (.dff, .dsf)
